Logan Square Yarn Bomb - photos 7/14
If you’ve had a chance to walk down Milwaukee Ave, you’ll notice that many of the trees, bike racks and fences are covered in yarn. The neighborhood is no stranger to street art, and now a yarnbombing effort has brought some color and good vibes to Milwaukee Ave.
Here’s a few snaps from this morning/early afternoon:

Wine & Pop is working a huge project, and we need your help!
I don’t want to give too much away right now, but by the end of summer 2012, I hope to start a potentially giant project, and I would love help from the community. Once the project is revealed, it will make sense why. So, right now, I need two things:
1) Do you know how to design a great website & want to help? Or do you know of a great online tutorial I can use? This project has to have a great website if it’s going to be big, so I would love any web designers/graphic designers interested to e-mail me at jayoaks1992@gmail.com
2) I need some positive jams. Songs that inspire you, pump you up, and promote happiness, without being ironic or terrible. Songs like the one above, “Be You” by E-40. What songs fill your heart with joy, make you walk down the street with a purpose, or inspire you to do great things?
This looks so fun! And pre-sale admission is only $8 and $10 at the door, no problem, based on all of those great Chicago vendors! See you there on April 15. Catch it April 15, May 13, June 24, July 15 + five more in 2012. YUM!
Lollapalooza Lineup Breaking News
According to ads at the Logan Square Blue Line station, there are four confirmed acts for Lollapalooza 2012. The ads feature a Lollapalooza-styled background and the word “#Lolla” on the bottom right corner. Four lyrics are featured in this ad, as follows:
-“I fink u freeky” from Die Antwoord’s “I Fink U Freeky”
-“Do the D.A.N.C.E.” from Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.”
-“I got a test for you” from The Weeknd’s “Initiation”
-“I wont let love disrupt, corrupt or interrupt me” from Jack White’s “Love Interruption”
These advertisements confirm these four artists as headliners(?) or at least performers at this year’s Lollapalooza festival. My guess would be that Justice and Jack White are headliners, and Die Antwoord and The Weeknd are second-tier acts. However, the biggest story coming out of this is easily The Weeknd’s inclusion. It will be his first time performing in Chicago, and one of only a handful of any performances at all. Jack White is the most obvious choice, considering his expansive popularity and his debut solo album being released in April. Justice’s second album, AUDIO VIDEO DISCO, came out last year (and was one of my favorite albums of the year). So far the lineup is very solid, perhaps even better than Pitchfork’s, but we’ll have to wait for the smaller acts and the remaining headlines to guarantee that.
What are your thoughts? Do you like the lineup so far? Do you think you’ll attend? Who else would you like to see on the bill?

EXCITING NEWS! JUSTICE!
